In an unfortunate turn of events, the Ram’s Supermarket in Nevis was hit by a group of five robbers who escaped the crime scene after attempting a robbery on the cash tills at the Nevis branch of the Supermarket. The robbers could not access the tills, after which they left the crime scene.
The Supermarket in Nevis is the third of Ram’s chain to be hit by robbers in a week. The St Kitts and Nevis Police Force started the investigation of the incident right after they received the reports.
Accordingly, taking swift action on the issue, the police force has already taken three of the culprits involved in the crime under their custody. The officials of the St Kitts and Nevis Police Force reported that the robbery was carried out by a group of five. The robbery incident occurred at approximately 2:30 PM on Sunday, August 20, 2023.
According to the preliminary investigation ongoing in this regard, the robbers attacked the security guard with an umbrella and attempted to rob the cash tills. As they could not access the tills, the robbers fled the scene in a vehicle. The Police revealed that they stole the car from a customer entering the Supermarket.
The update shared on social media, reveals that the culprits abandoned the stolen vehicle shortly after they left the vicinity of the Ram’s supermarket. The Police officers has clarified that the recovered by Police at Long Point.
Shortly after the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force received the reports from the robbery incident, they pursued a vehicle with four (4) suspects in the Brown Hill area. During the chase, the car crashed into a wall, and one (1) suspect fled the scene on foot. The other three (3) suspects were taken into Police custody.
