Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs Attorney General Garth Wilkin attended a special service at the Zion Moravian Church to commemorate the Integrity In Public Life Commission’s week of activities leading up to International Anti-Corruption Day 2022 on December 9th.
The Minister of Legal Affairs, Attorney General Wilkin, attended the special service along with the speaker and clerk of the national assembly of St Kitts and Nevis, along with the permanent secretary of the Ministery of Justice and Legal Affairs.
Minister Garth Wilkins took to his Facebook to thank the Zion Moravian Church for hosting them and allowing them to pray with them. He wrote:
Thank you to the brothers and sisters of the Zion Moravian Church for welcoming the Speaker and Clerk of the National Assembly, our Ministry’s Permanent Secretary and me to worship with them.
He explained in his social media post that they were there to welcome the Integrity In Public Life Commission’s week of activities leading up to International Anti-Corruption Day 2022 on December 9th.
This year’s theme for Anti-Corruption Day is “Uniting the World Against Corruption.”
The United Nation Believes that the theme is most appropriate as the world seeks to highlight the crucial connection between anti-corruption and peace, security, and development.
Further, taking a leaf from the UN’s book, Attorney General Garth Wilkin Wrote that Tackling corruption is the right and responsibility of everyone, and it is possible only through the cooperation and involvement of each and every person and institution that we can overcome the negative impact of corruption.
The Attorney General, Garth Wilkin, Believes that the various States across the world, all the government officials, civil servants, law enforcement officers, the Church, media representatives, private sector, civil society, academia, the public and the youth of the society, all together have a role to play in this.
