United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his girlfriend Carrie Symonds opted to travel in the economy class for their New Year’s vacation pause in the Caribbean.
Johnson reached down in St Lucia on Thursday daylight following a long-haul British Airways aeroplane from London, international media reported on Saturday.
In a snapshot captured by a fellow traveller, the Prime Minister can be recognised at a window chair holding a book while Symonds is relaxing alongside him.
The duo was seated in the economy towards the tail of the plane, where travellers can usually squeeze more turbulence than those at the front.
A source told that the pair retained a “low profile” for the continuation of the travel and were accompanied by “little protection”.
The price of the flight would have required in the region of 1,323 pounds ($1,730) per person, significantly more succinct than if the Prime Minister had used a Royal Air Force private jet – which would extra likely weigh in at around 100,000 pounds.
The duo was additionally not given rise on the flight due to stringent anti-bribery and corruption laws in point at airlines.
Upon their arrival, Johnson and Symonds were received by St Lucian Prime Minister Allen Chastanet.
