The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew had the occasion to speak during Day Two of the Intra-African Trade Fair in Algiers, during the Global Africa Diaspora Day. During his address during the event, the Prime Minister said that the Caribbean was a crucial part of the African Diaspora
He was one of the three leaders who spoke on the behalf of the Caribbean region including the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley and Prime Minister of Dickon Mitchell of Grenada. All three leaders presented the side of the Caribbean during the Global Africa Diaspora Day.
The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis has shared that it is important for the leaders of the two regions to come together and work on the maintenance of the Global African Unity. During his address on Day 2, Prime Minister Dr Drew also reflected on the role played by the Caribbean region in the field of Pan Africanism.
The Pan Africanist movement has some of the most prominent leaders from the Caribbean region. Dr Drew has recalled that the leaders and activists of the Caribbean region have played a crucial role in the liberation of Africa from the colonial powers.
The Prime Minister had previously asserted in his address that the Caribbean is part of the African Diaspora. He reiterated this in his recent address and said tat they want to placed in the history and recognized for the work that they have done.
In his diaspora day address, he recalled the words of the pan Africanist pioneers who have helped in making sure that the African region has their sovereignity. The Caribbean people and leaders have worked with the African counterparts for the growth of both the regions mutually.
The Prime Minister said that it is important for this collaboration to continue in this manner for the future and prosperity of both the regions. The other leaders of the Caribbean also shared their own views on the Caribbean’s significance as the part of African Diaspora
