The St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) confirmed that this year federation’s young footballers will represent St. Kitts and Nevis at the 2026 FIFA U-15 Boys’ World Cup and Festival.
The Under- 15 football tournament is scheduled to take place from October 22 to 31 in Azerbaijan. In the tournament, young footballers from across the world will compete against each other for this year’s title.
The names of confirmed countries are Azerbaijan, St. Kitts and Nevis, South Asian Nations (India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka) and ASEAN nations (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Brunei, and Timor-Leste.
Atiba Harris, President of St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association SKNFA mentioned that participation on the international platform is a big opportunity for the federation’s young footballers. They can showcase their talent and have valuable international experience for their future career.
He said, “This is a tremendous opportunity for our young boys to showcase their talent and gain valuable international experience as they continue to develop and grow”. He further explained that representation at the FIFA tournament reflects the hard work and dedication of SKNFA to develop and expand the opportunities for the footballers.
He said, “Participating in a FIFA competition of this magnitude reflects our commitment to investing in youth football and creating pathways for our young players to reach their full potential”.
The SKNFA stated that the updates regarding the team preparations and selection of the squad will be announced in due course by them and requested the interested individuals to stay connected with the SKNFA social media handle for more information.
Notably, FIFA announced that the 2026 FIFA U-15 Boys’ World Cup and Festival is the first edition which was approved by the FIFA Council last year in December. The next year installment will also feature girls team only and from 2028 both the categories will participate in two separate competitions
