Two athletes from St. Kitts and Nevis, Najeeb Kelly and Kymarni Newton have earned athletic scholarships from the St. Elizabeth Technical Highschool (STETHS) in Jamaica. The athletes will have the opportunity to pursue their education as well as their athletic ambitions at the institution. 

The Ministry of Education, Nevis has extended their best wishes to the athletes for their achievement. The Ministry has additionally urged the young athletes to represent the country well during their work. 

The Minister of Education in the Nevis Island Administration has extended his best wishes through his social media posts. He encouraged the youngsters to work hard, stay focused, remain humble, and chase their dreams. 

The Minister also expressed hope for this journey to open more doors for the athletes. The school’s track and field programme has been highly respected within the region. The school has produced Olympic stars like Junelle Bromfield, Bridgette Foster-Hylton and Shericka Williams.

The selection of St Kitts and Nevis athletes, Najeeb Kelly and Kymarni Newton is historic not only for the students but also for the federation. They are the first athletes from St Kitts and Nevis to be part of the Jamaican institution, 

The Nevis Island Administration Ministry of Education officials extended their support and appreciation to the athletes as they prepare to leave for Jamaica. The organisation shared that 

According to Minister Troy Liburd, Principal Assistant Secretary, Ministry of Education, Sports, et al., Jamir Claxton applauded the students for their achievement. Director of Sports, Aljay Newton was also in attendance to extend the support on the behalf of the Nevis Island Administration through the Ministry of Education, Sports, et al. 

The Ministry of Education, St Kitts and Nevis is sponsoring the athletes airfare as they travel to Jamaica. In addition to the airfare, the Ministry has also made a cash donation to assist them as they begin their journey for a successful future in athletics. The officials have shared that they are extremely proud of the achievement of the young athletes. 

The authorities have expressed hope that they will represent Nevis well as they go to study in Jamaica.
