Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force is investigating a suspected double murder which was reported to have taken place in Nevis on September 3. The Police on Nevis has confirmed that this was an apparent stabbing incident and the violent crime has resulted in the deaths of two people.
The deceased persons were a couple living in Nevis and have been identified as 62-year-old Mario Andrew and his partner, 52-year-old Caroline Rodrigues. The now deceased couple were residents of Browne Pasture in Nevis.
According to the information shared by the police force, they received the report of the incident at approximately 12:55 a.m. on September 3. The incident may have happened close to or after midnight on September 3.
The Police is actively investigating the incident with the help of one person who is helping the police with their enquiries. The identity of the person who has been assisting the investigation has not been made public by the Police officers.
The Police has further asserted that the circumstances surrounding the deaths of the couple are currently under active investigation. Further information will be released as and when it becomes available.
The Police force has called for any individuals who witnessed the incident or have any information about the crime that could assist the investigation to come forward. The authorities are asking the people to contact the Charlestown Police Station at 469-5391, the nearest police station or the Crime Hotline at 707.
The Police force has further assured the people of the island that all information will be treated with the strictest confidence. The death of the couple has left the community in a state of shock.
