Minister of Sports and Creative Economy Samal Duggins commended Tejuan Webbe for his historic achievement in the North American and Caribbean Athletic Association NACAC Under 18 & 23 Championship. Webbe won the bronze medal in the men’s U18 100m hurdles in 14.26 seconds and made his new personal best.
Duggins stated, “congratulations to Tejuan Webbe on his historic bronze medal performance at the NACAC U18 & U23 championships”. He wished the Webbe online on his official social media handle yesterday (July 13 2026). He also shared images from the medal ceremony.
Minister Samal Duggins mentioned that Webbe’s performance in the tournament reflects his hardwork, dedication and perseverance and made history for St. Kitts and Nevis. Notably, he became the first athlete from the federation to win a medal in the NACAC championship in 110m hurdles category.
Moreover he is the second athlete from the St. Kitts and Nevis who won the medal in the NACAC championship after Amya Clarke who won the silver in women’s U23 110m in 2021. Minister Duggins also extended congratulations to Tejuan Webbe on the behalf of the federation public. He even acknowledged the efforts of the Webbe coaches, family and his team for supporting him.
Duggins Stated, “On the behalf of the people of St. Kitts and Nevis, I extend heartfelt congratulations to Tejuan, his coaches, family and support team on this outstanding achievement”. The Minister also mentioned that the federation is proud of him for his outstanding achievement in the 2026 NACAC championship.
Additionally, the championship was a three day tournament held from July 10 to 12, 2026 at the Sport Complex Una Nueva Historia in Apizaco, Tlaxcala. The team consisted of four players Tejuan Webbe, Khylinn Prentice, Alexander Caines and Kaliyah Jones and led by Coach Royston Queeley.
Notably, in the North American and Caribbean Athletic Association NACAC Under 18 & 23 Championship 2026 total 31 countries participated.
