Statia (St. Eustatius) and St. Kitts have expanded connectivity with a new inaugural flight. The regular flight service was started on Thursday 2, April 2026. The flight is being operated by Dutch Caribbean Islandhopper~Must Go Statia.
The flight arrived at Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport in Basseterre. In the fight there were three passengers who needed medical attention. The Statia federation promoted them to travel abroad for diagnosis and treatment.
The new inaugural flight highlighted St. Kitts as a regional hub for specialized medical service in the northeastern Caribbean. The duration of the flight was ten minutes. The aim of the flight is to improve regional connectivity and accessibility in the Caribbean region.
According to passengers, they were informed about the flight on Friday. The aircraft was operated by the Curaçao-based captain Steven Chinakwie and mechanic Jeison Alvarez-Castro of Colombia provided the mechanical support to the aircraft.
The new regular flight will allow the Statia public to travel to St. Kitts for the medical treatment. Before this initiative no such service existed between both the islands. For medical services individuals have to personally arrange the flight for the St. Kitts.
The next day the flight departed to Statia island, completing an 18-hour turnaround. One passenger from the flight mentioned that the fight was very good and very fast. It also highlighted the airline’s vision of providing quick and practical travel options to those passengers who need urgent medical assistance.
Moreover, St. Kitts expansion in healthcare facilities and accessibility reflect that the island is now being positioned as an alternative destination for medical assistance in the northeast Caribbean region. Additionally, with the launch of new flight service between Statia (St. Eustatius) and St. Kitts will help in strengthening the healthcare, economic and social ties.
