West Indies Women Cricket team has been defeated by the Australia Women Cricket Team in a 3 match one Day International (ODI) series, the final game of this series was played at the Warner Park Stadium in St Kitts and Nevis. Australia Women Cricket team won the last match by 9 wickets on Thursday 2 April 2026.

The ODI tournament between both teams was held from March 27 to April 2, 2026. The Australia Women team dominated the entire tour, winning all the three matches 3-0 of the ODI series.

In the First Match Australia scored 341 runs and won the match by 103 runs. The second match which was held on March 29 Australia cricket team won the match by 90 runs. On the last day of the tournament Australia team won the match by 9 wickets and claimed the entire series.

In the last match West Indies scored 136 runs as Alana King Australian leg-spinner bowled extremely well, she alone took the 5 wickets for just 19 runs. It was also her second-best performance in ODI cricket.

During the powerplay the West Indies Women team scored 49 runs which was a good start but bowling by King broke their momentum which caused the collapse of the top order batting lineup of the team.

West Indies cricket team batting order was reshuffled for the last match of the ODI series. Captain Hayley Mathews and Deandra Dottin opened the innings on behalf of the Windies women. Lucy Hamilton also took her first ODI wicket, sending Dottin back to the pavilion. This wicket changed the momentum of the match for both the teams.

After the Dottin wicket fell Alana King dismissed the wickets of Matthews and Jannillea Glasgow easily. Australian players’ strong fielding made it difficult for the West Indies batters to score the runs.

After the loss of three wickets, Chinelle Henry and Realeanna Grimmond 37-run partnership gave hope to the Windies girls. To complete her five-wicket haul King took the last hope of the team and as a result West Indies lost their final wickets rapidly.

The Australian team chased the target easily as their batter Phoebe Litchfield scored 68 off 56 balls unbeaten. Georgia Voll also contributed a 50- run opening stand before she lost her wicket out. The Aussie team comfortably chased the target and scored 137 runs in 20 overs and only lost one wicket.

In the tournament Phoebe Litchfield’s outstanding performance throughout the series gave her the title of Player of the Series. Both the team were now preparing for their upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England this June.
