St. Kitts and Nevis Minister of Education, Dr. Geoffey Hanley has announced an interesting activity for the youth of the country. He has introduced the in, the augural “Minister of Education For A Day Challenge” under the theme “The Next Generation of Education Leaders Starts Here.”
The initiative is scheduled for Early August, bringing the opportunity for the students across the island to participate in this unique challenge. According to the details shared by the Minister of Education, this challenge provides secondary students from six high schools between the ages of 13-16 with an opportunity to participate,
The youngsters will be able to share their ideas, perspectives, and solutions for improving education. This is a first-of-its-kind annual national student engagement initiative designed to empower students. Under this programme, the children will be given the unique opportunity to serve as Minister of Education for one official working day.
The students who are interested in being part of this unique opportunity have been invited to submit:
A written speech of no more than 600 words on the topic: “Redefining Education for Tomorrow’s Leaders” They also have to write a 2-minute video presentation on the topic: “If I Were Minister of Education…”
The presentations and submissions will help the Ministry of Education in shortlisting the students who will be given the opportunity to become the first “Education Minister for a Day”
This initiative is designed to promote youth voice, leadership development, and civic engagement. At the same time, the programme will help in strengthening collaboration between students and national policymakers,
The participants can win several exciting prizes, including the grand opportunity to serve one full day as Minister of Education.
