The St Kitts and Nevis Independence 42 Celebratory Calendar has been announced by the administration of St Kitts and Nevis for the year 2025. This year, the country is celebrating the 42nd anniversary of their independence.
The Independence Celebratory Calendar started with a church service to commemorate the lives lost in the MV Christena Disaster, which happened on August 1, 1970. The church service was hosted in Nevis.
The next few community events which form a part of the Independence Celebratory Calendar are the CPL matches that the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Team will play against the other five teams who are part of the tournament. The confirmed lineup of the CPL matches featuring the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots are starting on August 14.
The Patriots are playing their first match against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. This match will be played in St Kitts and Nevis as part of the Patriots’ home games in the Caribbean Premier League.
The second and third matches, which will be hosted on August 15 and August 17 will be against the Guyana Amazon Warriors and the Trinbago Knight Riders. The Patriots will play their final two on home ground on August 19 and August 21 against the Saint Lucia Kings and Barbados Royals.
On August 19, the first episode of the CONVERSATIONS Reflections & The Way Forward series will be aired. The topic of the first episode will be: From Farm to Fork: Making St. Kitts and Nevis Food-Secure & Self-Sufficient
Episode 2 will air on August 27, and the topic of discussion will be: What Role Should Our Global Family Play in Building St. Kitts and Nevis? Friday, August 27 will be the first of the National Colors Day, first celebrating green.
The schools, colleges and government offices will be asked to dress up in shades of green to honor one of the five colors in the National Flag of St Kitts and Nevis. Next, on August 30, National Tree Planting Day will be organized in Nevis meanwhile St Kitts will witness the launch of the ‘Deep Roots, Strong Nation’ Tree Planting Competition.
The theme of this competition will be, Growing Towards 45 and Beyond. On Monday, September 1, the new school year will begin across the twin islands.
On Wednesday, September 3, the third episode of CONVERSATIONS:Reflections & The Way Forward will be hosted. The topic for this year will be: Beyond the Beach Towel: Can St. Kitts and Nevis Redefine Luxury Tourism for Kittitians & Nevisians?
On Friday September, the second edition of the National colors day, highlighting red will be celebrated. Further the Cabinet Primary School Visits will start with the East Zone schools.
On Saturday, September 6, Gender Affairs Independence Sporting Competition will be hosted in Nevis. Sunday September 7, Gender Affairs Grill Master Competition
On Tuesday, September 9, 27th edition of the Prime Minister’s Lecture Series will start. Wednesday, September 10, Cabinet Primary School Visits will continue in the West Zone.
Fourth episode of CONVERSATIONS: Reflections & The Way Forward will air on the topic: From Harm to Healing: United to Ending Violence through Public Health. Thursday, September 11, the members of the Cabinet will visit Primary Schools in the Basseterre Zone and an award ceremony will honor unsung heroes.
Friday, September 12 will be dedicated to the national color yellow and celebrate National Sneaker day in St Kitts and Nevis. On September 13, The Taste SKN week will begin, (Sept 13th -20th). CARICOM Performing Arts and Food Fair and Caribbean Wellness Day Walk will also be organized.
On September 14, the country will host a National Service and Gratitude Gospel Concert

Tuesday 16 September will have the following events:

- Ministry of Tourism & Jessups Management Team Fish Fiesta
- Heroes’ Day Observances
- Wreath Laying & Recognition Ceremony
- (C. A. Paul Southwell Bust) • Announcement of National Honours
- Community Flag Raising Ceremonies • “Legacy of the Nation” – St. Christopher National Trust
- Heroes Day Luncheon for the Elderly at the Rotary Club of Liamuiga.
On Wednesday, September 17, Cabinet will visit the High Schools and CFBC. Thursday 18 September will be marked by the following events:
- PATRIOTIC DAY where people will be dressed in the National Colours.
- Patriotic Day Fair
- Schools’ Treat & Patriotic Programmes
- Governor-General’s Cocktail
- A Night with DJ Tero & EBJ Harmonics -Kaleidoscope
- St. Kitts and Nevis Chamber of Industry and Commerce (Nevis Division) Independence Cocktail
Friday 19 September will have the following events:

- INDEPENDENCE DAY
- Independence Ceremonial Parade
- Toast to the Nation
- The St. George’s Mothers Union Breakfast
- Bev’s Enterprise Annual Independence Breakfast
- Independence Parade and Awards Ceremony

SATURDAY 20 SEPTEMBER, the celebrations will continue with the Charlestown Secondary 75th Anniversary Production. On the same day, the Boat Ride – St. Kitts-Nevis Trades and Labour Union will also be hosted.
Thursday 25 September, Primary School Independence Elocution Competition will be hosting their Prelims and Republic Bank will organize the Five For Fun Finals.
Friday 26 September will have the following events lined up:
- National Colours Day #5 (WEAR BLACK)
- National Youth Rally
- Drill Competition
- Elocution Contest
Saturday 27 September will feature the following events:
- Brimstone Hill Independence Run “For the Fit and Fearless”
- Flowers, Food and Flags by Flower Arrangers Association
- Charlestown Secondary School 75th Anniversary Gala
On Monday, September 29, 19th Caribbean Week of Agriculture (CWA) 2025 will start and run through October
Thursday 09 October will have the Primary School Independence Elocution Competition finals and finally, the calender concludes with a Night of Dance on October 26.
