Prime Minister Terrance Drew, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister, Dr Geoffrey Hanley and the Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson, visited the construction site in Gillards to check on the progress of the houses which were under construction for people of the island nation.
The houses which are being constructed in St Kitts and Nevis are part of the government’s initiative to provide affordable housing to families across the island. In the last three months, Prime Minister Drew and Deputy PM Hanley has visited several housing construction projects to take stock of the progress.
The National Housing Corporation has announced that The Gillards Meadows is the third housing cluster which has been announced in the period between July to September. The preliminary work on the project has already started with significant progress being recorded within weeks of announcement.
The Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew, Minister of Housing, Dr Geoffrey Hanley were both present at the launch of the Gillards Meadows housing cluster. The officials have shared that they will constantly visit the various announced housing clusters which have been announced so far.
The officials have shared that this is not the last cluster of new homes to be announced for the communities. The officials have shared that they are dedicated to bringing affordable home ownership to all the members of the community.
The Prime Minister also took to his social media to share some images from the visit and reaffirmed his and his team’s commitment to providing affordable homes to the people of the island nation, Under the Prime Minister’s post, the people of the island shared their views on the progress which they are seeing.
