The people of St Peter’s were honoured for their work and dedication for the welfare of the country. The ceremony hosted on October 29 formed a part of the We Village Dat initiative. The aim of the event was to bring the spotlight to the people of St Peter’s for their work in various fields including education, sports, business and more.
Seven residents from across St Peter’s were awarded honored for their constribution to community building. The seven honorees included people from all ages including youngsters and adults. We Village Dat also highlighted the people whose community spirit shone through their work.
- The recipients for this year’s We Village Dat Award include:Eldroy “Bambell” Belle for his contribution to the entrepreneurship sector pf the country and the community.
- Sylvia “Missy” Dabrio-Queeley for her contribution to the national security through her work in Police Services
- Kennedy Natural Hazel was honored for her work in Cultural Preservation as an actor.
Young creatives of St Peter’s were also awarded with honors for their hardwork and dedication. The young awardees included:
- Adakkei Adams was honored for his contribution as an actor
- Zadoiah Pennyfeather was honored for her work in the field of music and culture as a singer.
The people who showed community spirit in their work were also recognized for the work that been done in this regard.
- Asim Collins was honored from Upper Monkey Hill
- Idread Liburd was honored from the Lower Monkey Hill
The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, who is the Parliamentary representative for St Peter’s was also present at the awards ceremony.
He was accompanied by the Minister of Culture and Creative Economy Samal Duggins who appreciated the honourees for the work that they have done to make their community and their nation proud.
The aim of the We Village Dat honors is to make sure all the members of the community feel included and that their contributions feel valued and appreciated.
