People’s Labour Party is hosting a People’s Liberation Concert ahead of the country’s general elections scheduled on Friday, August 5 2022. The election rally cum concert was held at Central Street, in Basseterre. The People’s Labour Party shared a link for their supporters to watch the People’s Liberation Concert cum Election Rally live from the comforts of their home on the political party’s official Facebook Page.

The political party had arranged for the Vision Gospel Band and Rootz Gospel Band to be in attendance at the Liberation concert to entertain the public who showed up at Central Street to support the People’s Labour Party (PLP). The prominent leaders, contenders for the upcoming general elections and the spokespersons of the People’s Labour Party took this chance to interact with the residents and Citizens of St Kitts and Nevis. 

Ahead of the general elections, which are only four days away, the political party, from the stage of the People’s Liberation Concert reminded the people of St Kitts and Nevis of the promises that they had made in their manifesto. Additionally, the contenders of the People’s Labour Party assured the residents and citizens of St Kitts and Nevis of having a secured future under the leadership of Dr Timothy Harris and the People’s Labour Party.

Some of the promises made in the PLP manifesto ahead of the general elections were: 

  • The poverty Alleviation Programme (PAP) allowance will be increased from $500 to $1000 
  • Livable Income will be increased from $1500 to $3000
  • The newly elected government will reduce the VAT 
  • Graduates will be able to acquire professional experience and master entrepreneurial skills.
  • Two thousand new homes will be provided to the families of St Kitts and Nevis.
  • Every child born will get at least $5000 for their tertiary education.
  • Parents making less than $3000 a month will be given an allowance of $500.
  • New mothers will be assisted with job training and free after-hours childcare.

At the People’s Liberation Concert, The People’s Labour Party took the chance to urge the citizens of St Kitts and Nevis to vote for their “Secure Future” in the upcoming General Elections and reelect the representatives from the People’s Labour party.
