The government of St. Kitts and Nevis has announced the 2026 Back to School Voucher programme to support the students and parents with shopping for the new session. The administration has announced that the members of the eligible children from across the island will be eligible for vouchers worth EC$250.
The sum will support the families in buying supplies for the new school session, uniform, stationary and other supplies. The Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis has shared that the initiative is aimed towards reducing the financial burden of the back to school expenses for families.
The Prime Minister has shared that the initiative is extremely important especially with the current economic realities that the world is facing. The officials have shared that the government is supporting the people of the country as the back to school season returns.
The official government communication has directed all the families to check their children’s eligibility for the vouchers. The parents who are eligible to apply for the support vouchers need to be 18 years old or older. They have to be registered as the parent or guardian at the school for each of their children.
The parents must also provide a valid phone number and email address and have a valid JAD Digital wallet. The administration has shared that the parents have to gather all the information pertaining to their children, including:
The students full names as they are registered in their schools
The full name of the school and the grade of the student for the session 2026-27
The government has also clarified that the parents have to fill only one form and if they have multiple children, they can fill in the information for every child in this format on the same form.
Next, the parents have to visit the official portal at: www.socialdevelopment.gov.kn and
Complete the digital form with each child’s details.
The government has also urged the people of the island to double-check that the JAD wallet email address matches the one that has been submitted.
After this step, the parents are urged to wait for their verification under which the administration will verify: Your ID & each child’s ID.
