Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson addressed a press conference, sharing updates on the achievements recorded by the Ministry in the first quarter of the year 2026. Minister Henderson spoke about several new developments which have taken place during the first few months of the year. 

The Minister talked about the homeporting operations for P&O cruises which will start in November 2027. Port Zante will become the center for tourism growth for the island with the start of the homeporting operations.

The officials have shared that with the homeporting operations beginning, Port Zante will become the primary turnaround port. This means that thousands of travelers will be starting and ending their cruise vacations directly on the island.

The officials have shared that it is a very important development for the growth of the tourism sector of the country. The officials have shared that it is important for the  expected to boost visitor arrivals and expand economic opportunities across the Federation.

The Minister of Tourism also provided updates on the strong performance of the island nation in the airlift and cruise sectors. Minister Henderson was also proud to say that the nation was nominated in four categories for the 2026 World Travel Awards.

The Minister of Tourism also shared a comprehensive update on preparations for the 2026 edition of the St. Kitts Music Festival. The  festival will take place from June 25–27 and is expected to deliver another exciting showcase of music, culture, and entertainment.

The Press Conference of the Tourism Ministry was also attended by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Tirana Wharton; Chief Executive Officer of the St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA), Adeola Moore; Chief Executive Officer of the St. Kitts Urban Development Corporation, and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, Melnecia Marshall.

They also spoke about the developments within the tourism sector which have taken place during this period. The Tourism Ministry Press Conference highlights the authorities’ commitment to strengthening its tourism product, expanding global partnerships, and positioning St. Kitts as a premier destination in the Caribbean.
