In the SKNABA Junior Division Championship the ASC Jayhawks has officially secured the title for this year 2026. The ASC Jayhawks defeated the Nevis Youth & Sports Eagles in the final deciding match of the 3 match series.
The SKNABA Junior Division Championship finals was held on Saturday 4, April 2026 at the Basketball City, Basterre. The ASC Jayhawks won the championship reflects their discipline, consistency which lead to their win for this year.
During this year’s edition of the SKNABA Junior Division Championship six teams across the island participated including the ASC Jayhawks, Nevis Youth & Sports Raiders, Bird Rock Uprisers, St. Thomas Trinity United Juniors, Challengers Exodus and Sandy Point Falcons.
The semi final match was contested by the teams, Bird Rock Uprisers and St. Thomas Trinity United Juniors were the teams along with ASC Jayhawks and Nevis Youth & Sports Raiders played in the semi-finals.
The final of the SKNABA Junior Division Championship had three parts. The first match was played on March 14 where Jayhawks scored 85 and Raiders scored 75 and Jayhawks won the first match. The second match was played on March 26 where Raiders won it and made the series tied.
The deciding match of the championship was played on April 4 where ASC Jayhawks showcased their dominance in the series, scored 97 and won the title of the championship while Raiders scored 82 in the final match of the series.
On Sunday 5 April 2026 an unofficial trophy presentation was held by the sponsor Shazune Gumbs, representative of St. Kitts Credit Union. In the unofficial ceremony Daviaque Nisbett received the honour of MVP Most Valuable Player for his outstanding performance and leadership throughout the season.
Glen Jeffers, the President of the St. Kitts-Nevis Amateur Basketball Association was also present at the ceremony. Additionally members from the ASC Jayhawks Junior Team, coaches, supporters and basketball enthusiasts were part of the ceremony to celebrate the team’s milestone achievement.
According to officials, an official awards ceremony will also be held and it will be scheduled at a later date, where individual awards, prize money and championship trophies will be formally presented to the performers.
