People’s Labour Party, led by former Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Timothy Harris and other prominent leaders from the political party organized a press conference on March 19, 2026.
This is the second tome that the leadership of PLP has convened a press conference to address the happening in the country. The leadership of the current opposition political party of St Kitts and Nevis has claimed that the press conference has come at a crucial time.
The aim of the media interaction is to speak to the people of the island and express their concern on some of the government’s recent developments.
The leaders have expressed their worry on the country’s economic situation. The leader of the PLP talked about the IMF Report which was published earlier this year to support his claims.
The leaders further also expressed displeasure on the recent announcement of the Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew regarding the recent 100 person delegation to Nigeria and the five continents.

The PLP Leadership commented on the unstable situations of geopolitics as a result of the tensions in the middle east. The war between Iran, Israel and The USA is expected to have a negative impact on the small island nation.
The energy and fuel prices are also expected to go upwards as a result of the situations being seen in the region as of now. PLP Chairperson Wendy Phipps highlighted that they expect the prices to go up in the coming weeks.
The chairperson of the People’s Labour Party has also called for more clarity on the Prime Minister’s announcement of the 100-person delegation visit to Nigeria and the other nations.
Similar sentiments were expressed during the 2 hour press conference by other members of the People’s Labour Party, the leader of which currently sits in parliament as a member of the opposition.
Some of these leaders also called on the ruling government to address the everyday concerns of the people including water availability.
