Dr Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis attended the opening for Training Course #47 for the St Christopher and Nevis Police Force. The milestone event for the Police Force was hosted at the Police Academy.
While in attendance at the opening. Dr Drew appreciated the newest recruits, most of whom were young people, for stepping up for the service of the people of the country. Dr Drew, who attended the opening of the training course in the capacity of Minister of National Security. He addressed the members of the police force as well as the new recruits.
He spoke about maintaining the balance in the hiring processes for the police force. Dr Drew also added that they needed women as part of the police force.
Dr Drew said that he acknowledges that there are a significant number of youngsters who have chosen to be part of this organization. This is when they could have chosen to pursue any other careers after their education was completed.
The Prime Minister was proud to see the youngsters choosing public service and not any other negative paths. He added that this tells him that the faith which they have in the youngsters of the country is well placed.
The government of St Kitts and Nevis has been working towards making sure that the youngsters have all the support that they need to thrive in their careers. The Prime Minister said that he has been telling the commission that if they are able to do it the right way, they will get a lot of young men supporting the development of the country.
He has shared that he was happy to see a lot of youngsters present at the opening for Training Course #47 for the St Christopher and Nevis Police Force.
Dr Drew believes that their presence sends a strong message. It shows that the youth of St Kitts and Nevis can also choose the right path, the uplifted path as they continue to build on the journey of their life.
He has also urged the youngsters of the country to steer clear of gang culture and crime activities and pursue an uplifted life. The other Police Command Officers also extended their best wishes to the new recruits who are part of training programme.
