PM Terrance Drew begins official visit to Taiwan aimed at advancing St Kitts and Nevis’ development goals

Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew has reached the Republic of China (Taiwan) for an official visit on Thursday November 12, 2025. This visit and Prime Minister’s engagement with the Taiwanese authorities are largely aimed at enhancing the relations and cooperation in key areas of national development between the two countries.

PM Drew and his delegation received a warm welcome at Taoyuan International Airport from Taiwan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lin Chia-lung. After arriving, the Prime Minister thanked the government of Taiwan for their continuous support.

“Touched down in the Republic of China (Taiwan) for an official visit aimed at deepening the partnership that has guided our two nations for over 42 years. Each visit reminds me of the trust, friendship, and shared purpose that define the bond between Saint Kitts and Nevis and Taiwan,” read the post shared by PM Drew on his official Facebook account.


PM Drew also noted that his official visit serves as an opportunity to find new ways of collaboration – including for healthcare, innovation, agriculture and sustainable development.

“Each engagement provides us, as a young and ambitious nation, with an opportunity to learn, grow, and explore new ways to advance our own development,” said PM Drew.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of cultural and educational exchange to increase mutual understanding between the two nations.

PM Drew stated that St Kitts and Nevis will continue to support Taiwan’s participation in global events and lauded its significant contributions towards world peace, development and innovation.

During his stay in Taiwan, PM Drew will be attending several high-level bilateral meetings and official events to improve diplomatic ties with the Republic of China.
