Disney Dream cruiseFather of a five year old jumped in the ocean after the girl slipped through a porthole on the Disney Dream cruise. Disney’s themed cruise ship was in the international waters between Bahamas and Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale when the incident happened.
On Sunday, at approximately 11:30, the child was sitting on the railing of the ship on Deck 4 when they fell straight into the porthole prompting a dramatic action from the father of the child. The officials have shared that the father jumped into the ocean to recover the child as soon as the five year old fell.
The investigation into this incident is being handled by the Broward Sheriff’s Department and reported the developments have taken the internet by a storm. The father of the child allegedly did not see the child drowning and was alerted about the five year old falling by his wife.
As soon as this happened, the 37 year old father jumped into the ocean from Disney Dream cruise after the child and safely retrieved her. After getting the 5 years old child, the 37 year old then stayed in the water swimming on the spot for some time till a rescue boat from the cruise line was able to get them safely back on board the ship.
The other guests on the Disney Dream cruise also expressed their delight on seeing the father and daughter safe and sound back on board. Some of the guests had taken to their social media to share the details of the incident on the internet.
Notably, the girl and the father are both safe and healthy after a rescue effort that lasted twenty minutes the previous week. The investigation into the matter are ongoing and the people on the ship, including the staff members at Disney Dream cruise been vetted thoroughly for any new details.
