Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew visited his alma-mater, Deane – Glasford Primary School along with the Minister of Education, Dr Geoffrey Hanley, on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025 to celebrate the school’s 25th anniversary since its name change.
A special assembly was conducted to celebrate the silver jubilee of Deane – Glasford Primary School that featured poetry and renditions by the students, and inspiring words by officials including PM Drew, a past student of the school.
The dignitaries were joined by the current and past staff members and students of the school during the special assembly, to celebrate the milestone of the school under the theme ‘Celebrating 25 Years of Shaping Minds, Changing Lives, and Inspiring Greatness.’
PM Drew’s visit to the school
The school’s principal and staff extended a warm welcome to PM Dr Terrance Drew and Education Minister Dr Geoffrey Hanley, thanking them for taking the time out of his busy schedule to visit and interact with the students.
During his visit, PM Drew met the students of the Deane – Glasford Primary School, encouraged them to work hard, and to pursue their dreams.
PM Dr Terrance Drew appreciated the presence of Dr Geoffrey Hanley and all the staff members and students of the school during the special assembly and talked about his time as a student in the Deane – Glasford Primary School.
He further added that this small school is transforming and is now part of a larger community, and told the students that they are not from St. Peter’s – but from The Great State of St. Peter’s.
He concluded his speech by saying that they must believe in the motto of the Deane – Glasford Primary School, “Rise Up and Achieve”.
Moreover, PM Drew took to social media and wished for the school’s continued success while also sharing glimpses from the celebrations, including his pictures with the staff members and students.
