Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, recently took to his social media to extend his gratitude to the Republic of China (Taiwan) for their generous contributions to the cause of human resource development in St Kitts and Nevis. The two countries share a deep and long-standing relationship.

The Prime Minister shared an image on his social media account where he was posing with the Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Michael Chau-Horng Lin, at the handover ceremony of the donation cheque that St Kitts and Nevis recieved as a part of ROC Taiwan’s annual financial contribution to the people of St Kitts and Nevis.

The contribution of the Republic of China (Taiwan) remains instrumental to several developmental and human resource-centric initiatives of St Kitts and Nevis. Accordingly, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, expressed his sincere gratitude to the government and people of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for their generous contributions.

He thanked the Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) during the handing over ceremony for the cheque of US$1,500,000.00 (One Million, Five Hundred Thousand US Dollars) to the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis. The handover ceremony took place in the office of Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew.

The Prime Minister shared glimpses of the handover ceremony on his social media account. He noted that The Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) continues strengthening bilateral relations with the Government of St Kitts and Nevis through its yearly financial contributions to human development through various projects.

He further shared he accepted this generous donation on the behalf of his government with great satisfaction. At the same time, he expressed his deep appreciation and interest in continuing to unite efforts between both countries to further strengthen the relations of cooperation and friendship.

According to Dr Terrance Drew, the donation will assist community enhancement projects, Special Olympics, and the Senior’s Day Care. The grant will also further assist the government in providing financial support for athletic projects within the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis.
