The Minister of Sports in the government of St Kitts and Nevis, Samal Duggins, extended his congratulations to the athletes who have travelled to the Bahamas to represent the federation at the 50th edition of the CARIFTA Games. The games are hosted in the Thomas Robinson Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas.
The Competition started on April 7, 2023, and will conclude with the final events of the track and field tournament on April 10. During the event, several representatives of St Kitts and Nevis, including the teenage sports star Jahzara Claxton and Akanye Samuel Francis, made the country proud with their performance. Jahzara is one of St Kitts and Nevis’s most renowned teenagers in the sports arena. In line with this, Minister Samal Duggins applauded the seventeen-year-old for her outstanding performance in the fiftieth edition of the CARIFTA Games.

At the same time, the official social media page of St Kitts and Nevis Athletics (SKN Athletics) believes that Jahzara Claxton will remain a household name in Sports in St Kitts and Nevis for her indomitable athletic prowess. Claxton amassed 4614 pts during the sports event after competing in 7 events. She concluded her performance on April 9 by earning a silver medal in the Women’s Heptathlon.
Meanwhile, Minister Samal Duggins extended his best wishes and congratulations to Akanye Samuel Francis for securing the first gold medal of the federation at the CARIFTA Games. The people of St Kitts and Nevis celebrated the achievement of the remarkable athlete.

At the recently concluded TDC Interschool Championships, Samuel Francis set a new record in the 300mh and 80mh.
Akanye Samuel-Francis continued his impressive athleticism this weekend at the 50th edition of the CARIFTA Games. Through his admirable performance, he copped first place with a time of 54.14s in the 400m Hurdles event.
