The Bank of Nevis has organized the Basseterre Zone Public Primary School Championship in collaboration with the sports department. The Bank of Nevis hosted the championship at the Kim Collins Stadium. The organization is using this platform to reiterate their commitment towards the social development of the island.
The bank of Nevis uses the opportunity to promote social development through sports. In line with this, the bank of Nevis held a small handover ceremony on January 18, 2022. The school teachers and students of the Basseterre zone were present at the ceremony, where the Bank of Nevis Ltd handed over the cheque.
The Basseterre Zone consists of the following schools,
- Tucker Clarke Primary School
- Dr William Connor Primary School
- Irish Town Primary School
- Beach Allen Primary School
Head of St. Kitts Operations and Corporate Banking for the Bank of Nevis Ltd, Starlina Roserie, was present at the handover ceremony. During the event, she stated that the donation that the bank of Nevis made during the ceremony indicates their commitment towards supporting the activities that lead to social development. These activities can be academic or athletic in nature.
The acting director of the department of Sports in St Kitts was present at the handover ceremony to receive the cheque. She thanked the contribution made by the institution. At the same time, she noted that they answered the department’s call for assistance towards covering the costs incurred in organizing the support event and meet. She further hoped that this gesture would mark the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship between the two entities.
Meanwhile, it is worth noting that the Ministry of Sports has entrusted the sports department of St Kitts and Nevis with promoting sports among the federation’s youth. They are also responsible for arranging initiatives that help promote the nation’s social development.
The Bank of Nevis has been functioning in the twin island federation since 1985 and remains responsible for the ensuring development in the country.
