The Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Geoffrey Hanley, who handles the responsibility for the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Gender Affairs, Ageing and Disabilities, et al., recently shared a new initiative the Ministry took under his charge. The Ministry of Youth Empowerment has started First Aid and CPR Certification training. The Minister of Youth Empowerment, ageing and Disabilities expressed his delight at the initiative’s start.
The Ministry shared some critical information about the event, which will help the country’s youth add another feather to their caps. The training exercise will be held on Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21. The team of experts from the Red Cross Society in St Kitts and Nevis will assist the Ministry of Youth Empowerment in the initiative. The training sessions will occur from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Red Cross Headquarters in Basetterre.
Through this initiative, the Ministry of youth empowerment wants to make the country’s youth population capable of first aid and CPR basics. With the experience of training and certification, several people in the country will become capable of saving people’s lives. The Ministry of Youth Empowerment started the initiative supporting St Kitts and Nevis’s continuing disaster risk reduction and resilience-building initiative.
The participants will get the Certification afer they have completed the full-day of training on Saturday May 20 & Sunday 21st May 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The participants of the initiative are required to Register at the office of the ministry of youth empowerment. The Registration Fee for the initiative: $35. The ministry will provide the Lunch to the participants of the training initiative.
All the interested persons must be a member of a youth-serving or youth-led organization that is REGISTERED with the Department of Youth Empowerment.
Per the Department of Youth Empowerment’s Safety Standards, each REGISTERED youth organization and youth serving organization should have at least two persons certified In First Aid and CPR among their active membership. Certification lasts two years.
