Following the conclusion of the elections in Nevis, The newly re-elected Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley took to his Facebook account to share his experience of the election campaign.
The election campaign of the Concerned Citizens Movement for the Nevis Island Assembly started with the dissolution of the former island assembly on November 25, 2022. Following the elections, The newly sworn-in Premier of Nevis took to his social media account.
In the social media update, he discussed the problems he faced during the election campaign. He wrote on his social media that following the elections. He thanked Jehovah God for His mercy, grace, and protection over me and the Concerned Citizens Movement Team.
Premier Mark Brantey expressed that the Political Party saw unimaginable forces arrayed against the CCM during the elections. He said that more than his political Party, he faced much resistance from the opposing forces. He explained that Radio shows on St Kitts and Nevis were dedicated to attacking him daily.
Mark Brantley explained Internet shows sprang up to attack him daily. The opposing forces also created fake social media profiles to attack me daily. Further, they hired strategists from far and near. Additionally, the opposing parties spent millions of dollars to ensure a change in government.
He informed the audience that People from within CCM’s bosom betrayed the Party. He feels that individuals conspired with the NRP and fueled the attacks from within and without.
Mark Brantley also shared that some public servants openly campaigned against the political Party. He added that other individuals frustrated our supporters and undermined us daily.
Mark Brantley wrote in his update:
And yet, after all that, here we are, STILL STANDING and STILL STRONG.
He expressed that This is the grace of God. God did this and not man. It is he who appoints and disappoints, and it is He who comes against enemies and principalities. This is His victory. Praise be to God!
