St Kitts and Nevis: The Citizenship by Investment Unit of St Kitts and Nevis has officially been launched as a “statutory body” on Tuesday. The transition has come into place with the purpose of streamlining the unit’s operation and making the CBI Programmes more responsive and appealing to global trends.

As a statutory corporation, the Citizenship by Investment Unit is also expected to serve as a key economic driver for St Kitts and Nevis. It is considered as a strategic move to enhance transparency, accountability and efficiency of the CBI Programme.

Six Guided Principles

Chairman of CIU– Calvin St Juste also delivered a keynote address and outlined six guiding principles for the future operations of the unit. He said that the unit will operate based on these principles, aiming to embed a culture of excellence and innovation.

The first guiding principle will be “Transparency” through which a clean and open decision-making process will be prioritized to enhance the trust between citizens and stakeholders.

The second one will be “Communication” and Calvin St Juste noted that the pillar will promote enhanced engagement and consistent communication.

Good Governance” as the third principle will uphold accountability and fairness in every action of the citizenship by investment unit.

“Transformation” as the fourth principle will promote change and innovation, aiming to enhance the opportunities and mitigate the challenges.

Global Leadership” will serve as the fifth principle through St Kitts and Nevis CBI Programme will be positioned as the leader by promoting industry excellence and CIU’s reputation.

The last and sixth principles “Sustainability” will maintain balance between economic growth and social responsibility, aiming to benefit both investors and the local community.

Three Core Pillars

The first pillar of the unit will be “Efficiency” with an aim to streamline processes for swift and effective service delivery.

“Service Quality” as the second pillar is aimed at delivering exceptional service to stakeholders with professionalism and care

“Collaboration and Professionalism” will foster a team-oriented environment and build more resilient unit.

Geoffrey Hanley talks about Unit

Acting Prime Minister Dr Geoffrey Hanley also addressed the launch event and stated that the body will streamline the decision-making process. The new structure is aimed at providing improved service delivery to both applicants and stakeholders, as per the minister.

He called it a pivotal moment and noted that the move is strategic to enhance the integrity and reputation of the programme at the international community.
