Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew will be travelling to Europe for two major international events the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3) which is being hosted in Nice, France, and the Brazil-Caribbean Summit which is being hosted in Brasília, Brazil.
The Prime Minister has shared that he will be accompanying a delegation of ministers. The Prime Minister highlighted that the meetings will play a very important role in the development of the St Kitts and Nevis foreign policy.
The Administration is working hard to make sure that the nation has an international presence and that its voice is heard across the world.
The organization has shared that it is their responsibility to make sure that all the members of the international community understand the federation’s sustainable island state agenda.
Prime Minister Terrance Drew shared that both events will be platforms for the discussion of climate change and climate action.
The first engagement, the United Nations Ocean Conference will feature crucial discussions between world leaders and experts. They will discuss climate resilience, ocean sustainability, and protection of marine resources. The climate conference in France falls directly in line with St Kitts and Nevis’ sustainability agenda.
The discussions that happen during the Ocean Conference can help the nation learn from leaders, experts and attendees. They will be able to implement these learnings in the development of the country.
The delegation which will be travelling to France along with Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew include:

- Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, Naeemah Hazelle
- Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Colincia Levine
- Permanent Secretary Miguel Flemming, Ministry of Agriculture
- Mutyce Williams, who serves as the Ambassador for the UN Mission
- Eustance Wallace who serves as the Minister Counselor
- Press Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office, Javon Liburd
Afterwards, the leaders of St Kitts and Nevis will be engaging in critical discussions regarding cooperation and support between Brazil and the Caribbean region.
