The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, recently announced that under his leadership, the government has decided to reduce student loans to five per cent of its original amount. With this, the government of St Kitts and Nevis seeks to support the students to get access to quality education.
Dr Terrance Drew, who handles the responsibility for social security in the government of St Kitts and Nevis, announced this during the special interview held on March 2, 2023. The monthly interaction with the media served as an opportunity for the Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Finance, social security, et al. to update the people of St Kitts and Nevis about the various developments in his respective ministries.
During the interaction, Prime Minister Terrance Drew announced updates regarding the public welfare initiatives, including the PAP Programme. In the interview, he made the announcement about the reduction of student loans, a decision that aligns directly with the Previous announcement of the prime Minister to alleviate the cost of tuition for the students studying at Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College.
