Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis: The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Denzil Douglas paid tribute to al the nurses including retired and active on the prestigious occasion of ‘International Nurses Day.’ He recalled the days when he was working at the Hospital and nurses guided him about all the essential protocols.

He termed the nurses as the backbone of every Health Centre and Hospital in the community, who are working around-the-clock to provide necessary treatment and assistance to the patients.

Dr Douglas appreciated the dedication and tireless efforts of the nurses while recalling his days at the Hospital. He said that he never felt ashamed of asking questions from them as they were the ones who taught him everything of the protocols.

He took to his official social media handle (Facebook) to expressed his gratitude for the presence of the nurses at every health institution.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs added, “Personally, I can attest to the tremendous work, experience and dedication of our Nurses. When I started working at the Hospital, Nurses were the ones who guided me through the protocols, was never ashamed to ask a question because their responses were always genuine and professional.”

Furthermore, the minister of St. Kitts and Nevis underscored the importance of nurses and their role in the lives of people as without them there will be no one. “We pray that they will continue to serve to the best of their abilities, healing and touching the lives of many,” Minister Douglas remarked.

In addition to this, Prime Minister of twin-island Federation, Dr Terrance Drew also greeted the nurses and spent a glorious evening with them, along with his wife, Diani Prince-Drew. They were accompanied by Dame Macella Liburd, Governor-General.
