The Joseph Nathaniel France JNF General Hospital, one of the primary healthcare institutions in St Kitts and Nevis, experienced a temporary water shortage earlier in the week. The water shortage came up due to an unfortunate technical issue with the pump for the water tank, which services the entire hospital.
The issue with the pump for the water tank developed unexpectedly. The issue hindered the free flow of water within the hospital premises.
In collaboration with the Water Department of St Kitts, The hospital maintenance staff of JNF General Hospital were able to resolve the issue within the hour. Running tap water was immediately restored on the hospital premises. Further, the hospital Management has established specific structures to avoid the future reoccurrence of such issues.
According to the reports from official government sources, The JNF General Hospital has a water tank that services the hospital. During water shortages, healthcare institution always recieves water priority—the tank stores sufficient water to supply the hospital for up to two months.

Minister of Public Utilites, Konris Maynard addressed the people of St Kitts and Nevis, informing them of the crisis earlier this month. At the same time, it is imparetive to note that the Ministry of Public Utilities is currently making efforts to ensure that they can restore the water supply to the people living in the various areas of St Kitts.
