Ahead of the Christmas celebration in St Kitts and Nevis, Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Dr Terrance Drew, visited the three healthcare facilities in St Kitts. These healthcare facilities include:

The Mary Charles Hospital in Molineux
The Pogson Medical Center in Sandy Point
The Joseph Nathaniel France (JNF) General Hospital in Basseterre.

During these visits, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr Delores Stapleton Harris and Director of Health Institutions within the Ministry of Health, Dr Jenson Morton, also accompanied the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew.

During his visits to the various healthcare facilities in St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew spent time with the patients. He interacted with the patients, doctors, medical teams and support staff of the three institutions. In his capacity as Minister of Health, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance, interacted with the teams from all three hospitals. He also delivered an address to the management and support staff of the hospitals.

As his first stop, Dr Terrance Drew graced his presence at the Mary Charles Hospital. While there, Dr Terrance Drew expanded upon the importance of the medical institution in the healthcare sector.

According to Dr Terrance Drew, In the upcoming year, the government of St Kitts and Nevis looks forward to upgrading the institution to improve doctor services so that there is always a doctor on call at the Mary Charles Hospital. This step from the government will help cut referrals to JNF.

Further, The Prime Minister revealed that the government wants to offer at least basic lab tests and X-rays, which will tremendously take the strain off JNF. Still, more importantly, it would provide better service to the people who this institution serves.”

Dr Terrance Drew conveyed his wishes to the patients and the staff of the hospitals
