The parliamentary representative of Constituency Number 1, East Basettere, Geoffrey Hanley, took part in a Make a wish outreach programme scheduled for valentines day, February 14, 2023. The event was focussed on paying tribute to the elderly of the community.
Taking to his social media account to talk about the event, Deputy Prime Minister Geoffrey Hanley stated, If only they could dream it, we, the stewards of our communities, would deliver it! According to Dr Geoffrey Hanley, This was the concept behind the Make-a-Wish outreach project, which spearheaded a special initiative on Valentine’s Day, Tuesday, February 14, 2023. The event aimed to show love and appreciation to a few of our nation’s elderly and infirmed citizens.
Along with the minister of social development and Dr Geoffrey Hanley, several other institutions and initiatives participated in this collaborative effort, which was aimed at showing their love and respect for the elderly of the community and the infirmed population of St Kitts and Nevis’s East Basseterre. The participating institutes include The Cable, The C.A.R.E. Foundation and the Rotary Club of Liamuiga.
The Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Geoffrey Hanley, shared several glimpses from the Make-a-wish outreach initiative. The glimpses included videos and images of Dr Hanley and his team’s interaction with the elderly.
The collaboration between Dr Geoffrey Hanley and The Cable, The C.A.R.E. Foundation and the Rotary Club of Liamuiga breathed new life into the initiative that had been paused in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. Dr Hanley shared that the team brought gifts to 12 recipients in Constituency #1, East Basseterre.
The gesture of the Deputy Prime Minister and his team made their hearts glad and their smiles brighter on Valentine’s Day! Further, Minister Hanley shared that he was delighted to join in this thoughtful and heartwarming project and looks forward to its continuity in the future.
