English singer and songwriter, Charli XCX, has been announced as the Songwriter of the Year by the Brit Awards, ahead of the award ceremony that will take place on Saturday, March 1, 2025. This will be the singer’s first Brit Award, despite her making music since 2013.
Charli XCX has been nominated in five categories this year at the Brit Awards, the highest any artist has been nominated. These nominations highlight the singer’s global success with her album – Brat.
The singer criticized the Brits Award in 2023 for not nominating any female musicians in the artist of the year category. She has been nominated for Best Female and Best Pop Act before but never actually won.

Charli XCX has also been nominated for Best Artist, Album of the Year, Best Dance Act, Best Pop Artist, and Song of the Year.
The singer’s will be up against the seven-time Brit winner, Dua Lipa, rap star Central lee, and indie singer Sam Fender for Best Artist Award.
Charli XCX’s duet with Billie Eilish, Guess, has been nominated for Song of the Year and her album, Brat, has been nominated for Album of the Year award.
