A major fire the United States’ California has led to the evacuation of more than 8,000 people from Riverside County. The uncontrolled fire has spread across over 12,000 acres, according to local authorities. The fire is called Apple Fire by the locals, and it started as several small fires on Friday. All of the small fires merged, resulting in a massive blaze. It initially started in the Cherry Valley, a community which is about 75 miles east of Los Angeles. In a tweet which was posted on Sunday morning, the Riverside County fire department said that the Apple Fire is now 12,000 acres and remains 0% contained. Several warnings and evacuation orders remain in place. The fire department has also issued new evacuation orders for the area which are east of Millard Canyon Road, north of Morongo Road and west of Whitewater Canyon Road. A fire department tweet said that around 2,586 homes totaling around 7,800 people are under evacuation orders. Photographs which were shared by the Riverside County fire department show thick plumes of smoke in the sky over the mountain region. The fire grew from 700 acres on Friday evening to its present form.
