Senator Troy Liburd, with ministerial responsibility for youth and sports, shared an update on his social media account. He participated in a ceremony to take the delivery of a track and field management system. The handover ceremony took place on Thursday, January 12, 2023. The minister of Sports shared on his social media regarding the update.

He wrote on his social media account where he wrote: This morning, I took part in a small ceremony to take delivery of our very own Track and Field Meet Management System. He talked about the contents of the delivery and updated the people of Nevis, saying The package included a photo finish, electronic starting system, and LED display.

According to the Minister of Sports, Troy Liburd, The system represents an investment of over USD 20,000. Nevis Island Administration paid for the amount for the package.

Further, as Senator with ministerial responsibility for Education, Information Technology, Library Services, Youth and Sports, Troy Liburd took the opportunity to commend the individuals from within my Ministry. He especially mentioned the individuals in Sports, Education and Information Technology.

Minister Troy Liburd thanked them for their contribution to this project. Further, the Sports minister expressed gratitude to Pastor Cecil Bartlett and consented to pray for God’s blessings on the equipment.

Minister Troy Liburd stated this represents a big step forward for Track and Field here on Nevis. Further, this indicates the many more to come to ensure the development and support of Track and Field on Nevis.

The premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley, appointed Troy Liburd as the Senator with ministerial responsibility for Education, Information Technology, Library Services, Youth and Sports at the swearing-in ceremony of the Nevis Island Administration.
