Nepotism, Victimisation, Incompetence and Corruption are issues that will be highlighted at Thursday’s public political meeting of the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP).
Political Leader and Leader of the Opposition, The Rt Hon Dr Denzil L Douglas has invited the general public “to be a part of this fight against all the odds St Kitts and Nevis is currently going through.”
The meeting scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. at Fig Tree in Sandy Point will feature remarks by the 8 NextGen SKN candidates for the next general election.
The St Christopher 5 (Sandy Point, Fig Tree and La Valle), His Excellency Kenneth (Kenny) Douglas is expected to disclose his major plans to enhance the quality of life of his constituents and the overall development of the town that he aspires to represent in the St Kitts and Nevis National Assembly.
Dr Douglas, the Leader of the Opposition along with the six other candidates will also make presentations at what is expected to be another exciting and energectic meeting.
Candidates are expected to raise issues of bad governance, corruption, nepotism and incompetence.
“The coalition is distracted by their desperation to win and have to address the many problems and challenges that St Kitts and Nevis presently faces,” said Dr Douglas during his weekly radio call-in programme on Tuesday night.
Dr Douglas made reference to the failing healthcare system, poor preparation for the Coronavirus pandemic and putting in place the mechanism for dealing with the potential impact on tourism and other sectors of the St Kitts and Nevis economy and inadequate housing.
“The Team Unity has been labelled by persons as being corrupt and unfit to practice their own profession, much less serve the people who are citizens of St Kitts and Nevis in the National Assembly and as a Government.
“It is time for the Team Unity government to go. Their time has expired since Februray 16, 2020. They need to go and ease the burden of the strangling weight of their widespread corruption, nepotism, incompetence and victimisation on the people of St Kitts and Nevis.”
Dr Douglas promised that his NextGen SKN candidates will bring order back to the governance system of the country as well as the real and genuine hope, opportunity and prosperity for the people.
