The Caribbean twin Island, St Kitts and Nevis established diplomatic relationship with the southeastern European country Bosnia and Herzegovina.
A Joint Communique was signed between the both nations in a brief ceremony in New York on Friday.
The Permanent Representative of St. Kitts-Nevis His Excellency Sam Condor, along with the Permanent Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina, His Excellency Sven Alkalaj, expressed a mutual desire to carry on deeper and stronger diplomatic ties. Both the diplomats have also expressed the possibility of signing a mutual visa waiver agreement between both nations in future.
With a population of over 3.8 million, Bosnia and Herzegovina country is located on the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe. The country had gained independence from the former Yugoslavia in 1992 and aims for European Union Membership. Mining, metal and agriculture are its main industries.
The Minister of Foreign affairs, hon Mark Brantley has expressed happiness after diplomatic relations were developed between St Kitts-Nevis and Bosnia and Herzegonvia.
