The second day of the CARIFTA Games ended with the athletes of St Kitts and Nevis winning 3 bronze medals. The athletes have promised that they will be ending the tournament on a high note and will continue to make sure that they make their nation proud.
Jasano Henderson won the firbronzest bronze medal for St Kitts and Nevis in the CARIFTA Games in the U17 Males Javelin. This was his first time competing in the CARIFTA Games and he made the nation proud with his 54.36m throw. The athlete started his CARIFTA Games career by setting his personal best record on the first day of the tournament.
The second medal for the federation came from De’Cheynelle Thomas. Thomas has been reaching the U17 girls 400m finals for three years in a row and she secured the bronze medal for the 2025 edition of the games. Previously, she had won the bronze medal in the 2023 edition of the event.
The third medal came from Samuel Francis who gave the federation it’s third CARIFTA Games bronze in the U20 Boys 400m hurdles. The victory of Francis was also historic as his third position time in at 51.56 seconds, was a personal best and national record.
The athletes want to add to their tally of medals on the third and final day of the CARIFTA Games on Monday. They have pledged to end the tournament on a high.
Further, the whole nation is proud of the athletes achievements and have extended their best wishes to the winners. Minister of Sports and Creative Economy et al, Samal Duggins took to his social media to extend his best wishes.
In his social media post, Minister Duggins highlighted that he was proud of all the athletes for their victories. He noted that the nation is proud of the athletes for their achievement
Further, Minister Duggins also noted that the victory during the CARIFTA Games is proof of the athletes commitment to making the nation proud. Samal Duggins also said that the athletes are a source of inspiration to youngsters who aspire to follow in their families.
