St Kitts and Nevis and Sultanate of Oman establish relationshipSt Kitts and Nevis has established diplomatic relationship with the Sultanate of Oman on August 12. The leaders have shared that the aim of the establishment of the diplomatic ties is part of both nations’ goal to improve their presence in the international community.

The two nations formalized their international relationship by signing of an official statement on behalf of both the nations. The representatives of both the nations were present at Oman’s Permanent Mission to the UN in New York.

They reaffirmed their commitment to fostering the relationship between the two nations. The aim of the establishment of diplomatic ties is to make sure that the people from both the nations can benefit.

The two nations can help each other in their respective development goals and international aspirations. The formalization of the ties is a major step for both the nations in terms of their diplomatic presence in the region.

Mutryce Williams, Permanent Representative of Saint Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations signed the statement on behalf of St Kitts and Nevis. Meanwhile, Ambassador Omar Alkathiri, Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations was present on behalf of his own nation.

The Ambassador of St Kitts and Nevis Williams extended the greetings of Dr Terrance Drew and Nevis and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Denzil Douglas to the people of the island.

The officials have shared that they will continue to honor the bonds that were formalized in Oman’s Permanent Mission to the UN in New York. The Ambassador of te Sultanate of Oman has shared that he is happy to have the formed a relationship with St Kitts and Nevis.

He welcomed the new development and promised to maintain the collaboration with the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis. He highlighted that the establishment of the relationship will be a foundation for enhanced dialogue, to open avenues of cooperation between the two nations.
