St Kitts and Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) hosted several football games at the Mondo track on Nevis. The games were hosted on Saturday, May 20, 2023. The Three Games were Played at Mondo on Saturday. The first game started at 3:00 PM, a first-division game featuring Trinity/Challengers Vs HardTimes FC out of Nevis. Then Starting at 6:00 PM, the football teams of St Kitts and Nevis played two Premiership games.
The teams played the first match hosted by the SKNFA, featuring Saddlers United Vs St. Paul’s United—meanwhile, the second of the partnership matches featuring Cayon Rockets Vs Bath United out of Nevis. The reports have suggested that before this time, those games would not have been possible at the venue. All the Nevis-based teams had to play every game over on St Kitts.
The Minister of Sports in The Nevis Island Administration, Troy Liburd, also expressed his delight in attending the games hosted by the SKNFA. He stated that he is very happy that the Cabinet of the NIA saw the wisdom in having a facility built to fill the immediate need of our athletes and footballers.
The minister of sports shared that it Surely warms my heart to see its almost instantaneous impact. Creating and developing a facility will help ensure that top-level football will now be a regular thing on Nevis. A number of people came out to the Mondo track in Nevis to support the players of their choice in the games. The next games are expected to attract even more spectators.
Talking about the negative influencers, Minister Troy Liburd hoped that those individuals who had no information or bad information, and were so eager to spread that nonsense, would be equally as eager to go out and support our young footballers of the SKNFA. He hoped that they would work towards spreading the good vibes now that the positive fruits of the investments are being manifested in real time for all to see.
