The Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Geoffrey Hanley has recently taken to his social media account to announce the Federation’s first ever Seniors Prom. The event is scheduled to be held on Friday, October 27, 2023. The event, aimed at bringing joy to the faces of the elderly population of the country is being spearheaded by the ministry of Youth Empowerment, Ageing and Disabilities.
The ministry under the charge of Dr Hanley has been working diligently to make the elderly people of the country feel included in the various activitjes that the country hosts. They host various recreational events and activities for them and engage them in healthy and enjoyable activities such as knitting, quilting, kite making and more.
The senior prom is a part of the government’s plan to expand the number of events which are aimed at meeting the needs of this specific age group. The Ministry has asked the people of the country to contribute to some degree and help make the seniors prom a resounding success for the people of the country to enjoy.
Note that the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Ageing and Disabilities has called on the people of St Kitts and Nevis, living in Diaspora to contribute prom dresses and suits for the upcoming initiative. The deadline for sending in the dresses as a contribution is September 30, 2023. The officials of the St Kitts and Nevis Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Ageing and Disabilities has also provided an address for the contributions to be shipped directly from overseas.

Making the announcements on the specifics of the remarkable event, the organizers claimed that they have arranged for some entertainment for the elderly people, with the help of local bands and musicians. The event will be hosted on St Kitts Marriot Resort starting at 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM
