The Minister of Agriculture, Samal Duggins, recently took to his social media to share his experience attending the 2023 St Croix Agricultural Festival. The representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of St Kitts and Nevis were in attendance at the event over the weekend in St Croix.
Minister Samal Duggins showed the event on his social media through several images he shared. In the photos featured on the social media account, Minister Samal Duggins flaunted the produce stand of St Kitts and Nevis. He also shared some images of himself posing with the event’s attendants.
The Minister of agriculture, Samal Duggins, shared an account of his experiences through his social media. He wrote that This past weekend produce and products from St. Kitts-Nevis were proudly displayed and sold at the 2023 St Croix Agricultural Festival.
Along with minister Duggins, the permanent secretary in the ministry of agriculture, Miguel Flemming, was also in attendance at the event. PS Flemming and Minister Samal Duggins helped officially open this mammoth agricultural fair.
As per the update shared by Minister Samal Duggins, the agriculture fair attracts some 30,000 people. The agriculture fair proved to be great opportunity for the farmers and entrepreneurs to promote their products in the regional markets. Accordingly, the Minister of Agriculture in St Kitts and Nevis, shared that they engaged the festival’s attendants in several important discussions.
Among these, they discussed how St Kitts and Nevis’s farmers, entrepreneurs and students would benefit from this type of collaboration with the Virgin Islands. He further expressed that he was pleased to showcase a little of what our food heroes offer regionally. The Minister of Agriculture is working diligently to up[plift the agricultural product of St Kitts and Nevis.
At the same time, he regularly takes out time to visit and interact with the farmers of St Kitts and Nevis to become aware of the issues and grievances of the farmers. They also discuss ways in which the farmers can develop their facilities to better align with the needs of the farmers.
