The Minister of Agriculture in the government of St Kitts and Nevis, Samal Duggins, has ventured on several visits to the various agricultural farms across St Kitts and Nevis. Minister Duggins has taken the initiative to visit all the farmers of the area to interact with them and get familiar with their concerns and issues.
These visits are a part of the Minister’s routine. As the agriculture minister for St Kitts and Nevis, Minister Samal Duggins routinely takes up these initiatives to maintain transparency among the people and their representatives.
During his most recent expedition, on Friday, February 10, 2023, Minister Samal Duggins and his team from the ministry of agriculture started their series of trips to Old Road. The group visited the Livestock Farmer Devin “Buckie” Richardson for the first stop. Following this, the agriculture minister and his team continued to Newton Ground at Fahies Estate.
At the estate, Samal Duggins interacted with Crop farmers Blyden Brudy and Denise Gillard and wrapped up In Parson’s village with Poultry farmers Walter Simmonds and Alvin Vasquez. Minster Samal Duggins took up his social media account after the fact to share the update on these meetings and interactions with the farmers of St Kitts.
Minister Duggins explained that he and the team aim to visit all registered farmers on St Kitts over the next few months to allow them to express their concerns and share ideas that can help meet their needs and further develop the agricultural sector.
The Minister regularly takes time out of his schedule to schedule visits and expeditions to meet the island’s various farmers and farm owners. Meanwhile, he also makes efforts to promote the local organic farms and eatery businesses of the island so that they profit from their businesses. Through these occasional updates, Samal Duggins also makes efforts to uplift the producers of the federation.
