The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Terrance Drew is all set to lead a delegation of leaders and high-level government officials from St Kitts and Nevis to Santa Marta, Republic of Colombia. The leaders from around the Caribbean will be convening in Colombia for the 4th CELAC-EU summit.
The summit will be hosted for two days on November 9 and November 10, under the presidentship of Colombia. The programme is being organized with the aim of improving political ties, economic cooperation and other relationships.
The constitution of the delegation which is going to accompany Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew will include senior Minister Dr Denzil Douglas. Minister Douglas, who handles the responsibility for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He had also accompanied the Prime Minister to the CELAC – EU summit which was hosted in 2023. The summit will serve as a platform for Latin America, Caribbean and EU to engage in fruitful discussions.
The discussions will centre around the areas of energy, digital and environmental transformations. The discussions will also cover areas like food security and other health self-sufficiency.

The two-day summit is expected to bringing several important areas of discussion to the forefront. After the conclusion of the summit in Colombia, Prime Minister will travel to Taiwan for the official state visit.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Denzil Douglas will also accompany Prime Minister Drew to the state visit along with other high level government officials and members of the community. The Prime Minister’s visit is a part of honoring the long-standing commitment to the relationship between St Kitts and Nevis.
The officials have shared that the members of the community have been benefitting from the partnership between the two nations for decades.
