The prime minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, took to his social media account to celebrate the first anniversary of their administration in St Kitts and Nevis. The prime minister reiterated his commitment towards bringing the country on the path of a sustainable island state. The mandate of turning into a sustainable island state is one of the country’s most spoken-for and discussed assignments. 

They outlined some of the major achievements that the administration has attained during the first year of its tenure. The Prime Minister shared that the well-being of our people is at the heart of our vision for a “Sustainable Island State,”. 

Dr Terrance Drew announced they had made significant investments in healthcare, including preparations for constructing a modern, climate-smart hospital. The prime minister shared a list of achievements and accomplishments of the St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party on his social media. 

Prime Minister Terrance Drew believes that healthcare is one of the most critical aspects of a country’s well-being. detailed some of the major healthcare achievements that his adminstration clocked. The list of achievements include: 

  • Establishment of the urgent overseas medical care fund for children
  • Training of the 250+ healthcare workers in life support systems
  • Sourced new MRI machine for Joseph Natheniel France General Hospital
  • Provision of 24/7 doctor service at Pogson Medical Centre
  • Cleared $2 million debt that the health sector of the country owed to medical suppliers
  • Added 2 internists, totaling 4, to JNF General Hospital staff
  • Hired a neurologist for the first time in JNF General Hospital’s history
  • Employed a new biomedical engineer at JNF General Hospital
  • 10 elderly care assistants added to the Cardin Home
  • Addition of 15 dialysis machines to JNF General Hospital
  • JNF General Hospital recieved “Baby Friendly” Certification under the administration of Dr Terrance Drew
  • Addition of over three dozen pieces of critical medical equipment to JNF General Hospital Wards
