The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew has expressed his pride in the development of the Kim Collins Athletic Stadium. The officials have shared some images from the stadium’s progress on their social media.
The Prime Minister highlighted that Minister of Sports and Creative Economy et al; Samal Duggins wants to improve the sports facilities in the country. The Minister and his team are working on many sports projects.
The Minister said that the redevelopment of the stadium has been in progress for several months. He has also shared regular updates on the progress of the renovation over the last few months
In March, he revealed progress had been slow and disrupted due to rain which had been constant in the first three months of the year. The Prime Minister of the country said that since then, the Kim Collins Stadium has been transformed into a first-class facility.
The development of the sports facility has been one of the biggest promises from the Labour Administration led by Dr Terrance Drew. Drew highlighted that the stadium project was initiated by Labour as a means to transform the sports capacity of the country.
The communities have been waiting for the construction of the stadium for several months.
The officials have shared that the stadium has undergone many renovations in the last few months. The changes include new seating, roof improvements and upgraded bathroom facilities. The stadium also received a new paint job as part of the renovations.
Currently, the track of the stadium is in its final stage of renovation and only the final layer is left to be laid.
The officials have shared that they want to deliver a facility that meets the needs of our athletes and the wider sporting community.
