Charlestown, Nevis: The Nevis Public Works Department (NPWD) has partnered with the Rock and Dirt Construction Ltd for the major road project, providing them with necessary equipment and skilled workforce to support the manpower required to complete the project in time.

The Ministry of Communications and Works in the Nevis Island Administration is collaborating with organisations in St Kitts on the Government’s Major St Peter’s Road Rehabilitation Project.

The Nevis Public Works Department has rent out a tire roller, milling machine, and paver, and a highly skilled and experienced personnel led by the NPWD Operations Manager Danny Williams, who will assist in their paving operations.

Minister Spencer Brand, who is responsible for the Works and Communication in the NIA said that this initiative marks a vital moment in the regional cooperation.

He expressed his excitement for the partnership, marking that this project will improve the road networks and public facilities in St Kitts. He also explained how this collaboration emphasises the importance of unity and cooperation between the islands.

“We are delighted to support Rock and Dirt Limited in this vital project for St Kitts. Our ability to loan equipment and personnel signifies our commitment to not only maintaining our own infrastructure but also enhancing the overall quality of life for residents across our Federation.”

Minister Spencer also reinforced that these bonds unite them and build a brighter future for the islands.

The Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley commended the NWPD Team for undertaking the crucial road works on St Kitts and congratulated Spencer Brand and his entire team at Public Works Department.

Notably, St Peter’s Road Rehabilitation Project encompasses infrastructure developments such as the addition of roundabouts, upgradation of drainage system and building of sidewalks and new road networks.
